This one-time funding opportunity is being launched in conjunction with the current Research Tools and Instruments competition. The deadline for applications is October 25, 2016. Applications will be assessed by a multi-disciplinary selection committee.
The budget for this funding opportunity is $2 million, for a total of 10 to 20 awards. The number of applications submitted to this funding opportunity is not restricted by the university quotas that NSERC sets for the Research Tools and Instruments program.
The goal of the initiative is to address a critical need, pending the report and recommendations from the Advisory Panel for the Review of Federal Support for Fundamental Science.
